Page Trail (“we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect information when you use the Page Trail mobile application (the “App”) on iOS and Android. Please read it carefully. By using the App, you acknowledge that you understand this Policy.
We encourage you to save or print this page for your records. For rules that govern use of the App, see our Terms of Service.
To provide reading logs, bookshelf management, progress tracking, optional ambient audio while reading, and related features, we may process the following types of information, depending on the features you enable:
The App may request notification permission if we offer push messaging; audio-related permissions and background modes are used so ambient or focus audio can play while you read, including from the system notification area where supported. If a future version requests other sensitive permissions (such as camera, photos, or microphone), we will explain the purpose before access and only use them with your consent. You can revoke permissions in your system settings, though some features may no longer work.
We use Google Firebase services, which process data according to Google’s terms and policies. Depending on how the App is configured, this may include:
Google acts as a service provider or processor in these roles. For more detail, see Google’s documentation on Firebase and data processing and the Google Privacy Policy. Data may be processed on servers located in various countries, including outside your own.
We will not use your personal information for purposes not described in this Policy without your consent or another lawful basis.
To support offline or low-connectivity use, we store data on your device using a local database (for example, SQLite via the app’s data layer) and lightweight key-value storage. Cover images or other media you load from the network may be cached on your device. Such data generally remains on your device; we do not upload your full reading library to our servers without a legitimate purpose (such as providing a specific feature) or a legal requirement.
We do not sell your personal information. We may share or disclose information only in these situations:
Where we operate primarily in one country, personal information collected there may be stored in that region. If we need to transfer data across borders, we will take steps required by applicable law (such as safeguards, assessments, or contracts) and inform you where necessary.
Depending on applicable law, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, to restrict or object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent where processing is consent-based. You may exercise these rights through in-app tools or by contacting us. We will respond within a reasonable period after verifying your identity.
If you are below the age at which you may lawfully consent to data processing in your region, please use the App only with a parent or guardian’s involvement and consent. We do not knowingly collect unnecessary personal information from children. If we learn that we have collected such information in error, we will delete or anonymize it promptly.
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or loss. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; please also protect your device and account credentials.
We may update this Policy from time to time. For material changes, we will notify you through the App (for example, in-app notice or banner). Continued use after the update constitutes acceptance unless applicable law requires a different process.
If you have questions, concerns, or complaints about this Policy or our processing of your information, contact us at lupasec@163.com. We will reply within fifteen (15) business days or as required by applicable law.
